Format Script.rev (9 KB)

This tText plugin is designed to format Rev scripts into HTML for display in a web page.

To install:

  1. Download the "Format Script.rev" file.
  2. Start tText and select "Plugin Manager" from the Plugins menu.
  3. Select the last line in the list.
  4. Click the "Existing" radio button.
  5. Click the "Add" button and select the "Format Script.rev" file you just downloaded.

It will get added to the list and will be available for use when you close the Plugin Manager.

To use:

  1. Copy some script from your script editor.
  2. Go back to tText, place the insertion cursor where you want the script to go, and select "Format Script" from the Plugins menu.
  3. The script in your clipboard will be formatted into HTML and inserted into your tText document.

This is great for adding scripts to blog posts or web pages. For further styling, configure the code & pre tags in your style sheet as the formatting will use both of those tags.

Have fun,

Sarah

This was posted by sending HTML email from a mobile phone. The text should appear as a single paragraph with no line breaks. I add some more text just to make the resulting paragraph longer.

Another paragraph.

I included the URL of a source code snippet hosted on the git.github social coding site. The code is a factorial function written in the Scheme programming language:

I created this post with the built-in Posterous rich text post editor, not by sending an email to the posting address. There does not seem to be a way of adding tags from within the editor, no preview and no draft saving.

Basic formatting: bold, italic, underlined, strikethrough, bold italic, colored.

Larger font Smaller font

Bullet list:

  • first
  • second
  • third

Numbered list:

  1. one
  2. two
  3. three

Some indented text:

this is indented

Blockquote:

This formatting is typically used for quoting some amount of text from different sources, or text that should be emphasized or stand out in some way.

Flush left

Centered

Flush right

The editor also includes commands for adding and removing links, but right now they look grayed out and unusable.

Update: the usual email subject syntax -- e.g. ((tag: mytag)) -- can be used for tagging the post

I'm not much into emoticons, but here are a few just to see how Posterous renders them:

The following paragraph is supposed to be indented to the right:

If paragraph indenting works, it can be used, for example, for quoted text.

Now back to default paragraph margin.

A link to my Flickr photostream explicitly included in the text: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pamoroso/

And now an embedded link to my Flickr photostream. The words "link to my Flickr photostream" are supposed to be clickable as a link.
