California Rolls

The California roll is a maki-zushi (roll), a kind of sushi roll, usually made inside-out, containing cucumber, crab meat or imitation crab stick, and avocado. In some countries it is made with mango instead of avocado. Sometimes crab salad is substituted for the crab stick, and often the outer layer of rice (in an inside-out roll) is sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds or tobiko. Read more on Wikipedia.

I Rarely Work In Silence

Click

I rarely work in silence. There is always music or talk or something coming over the speakers that are to my right. For some reason, and seemingly out of nowhere I will run across a song that just captures the moment or the emotion of the moment and I put it on replay until I can't listen to it any longer. Well, this is the case with this song, Starving In The Belly of the Whale by Tom Waits. Anyway, listening to the song the other day I realized that I had never attempted to paint a whale in my life (let alone staring in the belly of one) so I figured it was about dang time I gave it a go. Well, I guess that could be said about alot of things that you have never tried before. It's just best to give it a go and hope for the best. Here is to hoping for the best...Enjoy! PS. I wish fish really looked like this. I would immediately take up scuba diving. Also, is it just me or does this whale just make you smile?

Good News Finally! Peter Julian, Member of ParliamentNew Westminster has just launched a petition for a Judicial Inquiry into the

Fraser sockeye crash.

CONSIDER THIS: If there had been a Judicial Inquiry into the declining North Atlantic cod

, we would have rebuilt that fish stock by now because we would have discovered that the critical research by Dr. Ransom Myers
of DFO was being suppressed by DFO (Department of Fisheries and Oceans).

Here we are again.  DFO is completely silent, they have not even acknowledged that the Fraser sockeye crash pattern is extremely specific and provided the media with misinformation.

A judicial inquiry will place people under oath so they can be heard over the politics.

Please go to Peter Julian’s website: http://peterjulian.ndp.ca/node/864

And download the petition document, and sign it.

This has to be a paper copy, there can be 1 signature on a page or a full page of signatures, the address is on the document and postage to the federal government is free.

You cannot say you care about wild salmon if you don’t make this effort.  This will make a very big difference in the future of BC and the eastern pacific.
