It's about time for healthcare to be a hot topic in the news.  It's been an issue for years now, and it's finally being talked about (a lot/enough) in the mainstream.

I lean toward Libertarian.  I want the government in my life as little as possible.  Healthcare, however, is one thing that the government should be giving us as citizens.  A government's job is to protect its citizens.  Currently, with the way our healthcare system is, our government isn't doing its job.

There are many bad arguments against "socialized" healthcare: people will have no motivation to work, it will hurt the rich, we will have long waits during emergencies.  None of these excuses are true.  First, we live in a consumerist society; people want, therefore people will always have motivation to work.  Second, taxes might be a bit higher, but it's a small price to pay in order to help the needy (where's your heart?).  Finally, have you seen the waits we have now?  Waiting times couldn't possibly get longer.

Whatever, the fact of the matter is that we need this.

So I just spent the last 3-4 hours writing documentation, can you believe it?

I can’t.

In any case the documentation is pretty complete and covers the habla.config object in quite a bit of detail.

Click here to see the sexy documentation

I am extremely interested in knowing if anyone actually takes advantage of this documentation to do something cool, or reads it at all. Please leave me a comment if you read the documentation. If I get enough comments, I will definitely document the Hab.la event model, and the plugin framework!

Here’s a teaser from the docs:

  1. Instantiating a habla.config object
    • Usage Example
  2. habla.config object overview
  3. habla.config configuration variables
    • Text Interface Elements
    • Hab.la Icons
    • Hab.la Messages
    • Other Interface Elements
      • Maximize and Minimize Buttons
      • Link Detection and Links
    • Away Messages
    • Startup States
    • Setting Default Nicknames
    • Offline/Online Status variables
  4. habla.config palette variables
    • Example Code
    • Color List
  5. habla.config style variables
