Daily Digital: Astrotagging, FHM and the data liberation front
Google's new effort sounds less-than-corporate: "the data liberation front" is a project to make it much easier to leave Google's many services, without leaving too much of a mess - or too much stray data - behind. Think of it as a big fat 'unsubscribe' button. Just branded.
Palm is running a facebook competition, pitting well-manicured celebs and fashionistas against one another during the Mercedes Benz fashion week. Fans are invited to vote in a series of face-offs to determine who at each stage is the most stylish, until an eventual winner is established. The competition is designed to promote the new 'Pixi' phone. And very pretty it is too.
Nokia is edging further into the social world online, having just picked up Boston-focused social network 'Plum'. Location-based social networking is definitely high up Nokia's agenda.
FHM are diversifying into the ... cooking ... line... Yes, you read right. They're partnering with Ocado to create 'ChefHM' video content for their site.
On the media front, Titan have launched digital 6-sheets across lots of the top shopping centres, including Bluewater, Lakeside etc.

Thank God, it's friday.
I just realized I have some magazines which havent been read:
- FHM Indonesia, i bought it at Soekarno-Hatta airport. I thought I could read it while waiting for the boarding time. But I was too sleepy to read. ;(
- Tempo. My only subscription, delivered every Tuesday. I put it in my bag and I was hoping I could read it during coffee break time at the office. In fact, I was too busy with meetings. ;p
- BusinessWeek, I bought it from someone who sells newspapers and magazines at my office. Soon after I bought it, I put it into my drawer. I found it this afternoon before I went home.
