Heritage Research clothing references original heritage garments, and mixes the best of English craftmanship and Japanese fabrics. The Long Line parka is inspired by both the 60 40 mountain parkas and a classic Maine fishermans jacket, while the Deck Jacket is based on a pre-WWII US Navy pullover deck parka.

Production is limited, as each pieces is cut, sewn and finished by hand using traditional English tailoring methods in the UK. Brown Long Line Parka GBP £220 and Navy Deck Jacket GBP £195 available from Kiosk 78.

Guys - do you think you can pull them off? Click on the link above to see if you can. Ok, if you don't want to click, here's my copy & paste efforts from details.com:

1. To pull off Clark Kents, it helps to have Superman bone structure. (Tiny eyes and high cheekbones tend to get lost behind heavier glasses.) The stronger the features the better, but even if you don't have a chiseled jaw, these frames bring plus-size noses and expansive foreheads into proportion.

2. They used to come exclusively in black, precluding anyone without dark hair from wearing them. Today's blonde and brown frames allow guys with fairer complexions to bulk up too.

3. Thick specs can tame a protruding brow line. Just make sure the top of the frame sits squarely on your brows—not above them.

With the recent spread of H1N1 and seasonal flu throughout Russia, the government has gone to sorts of measures to prevent the spread of both.  At last week's World Cup Playoff match, masks were placed on 80,000 seats at Luzhniki stadium.  In parts of eastern Russia officials have started fining companies that don't follow "mask regime" requirements.

Now comes world that Russia's chief public-health officer Gennady Onishchenko has suggested that top Russian designers create trendy surgical masks.  Kinda makes me with there was a Project Runway Russia.  I'd kill to see Michael Kors describe a swine flu mask as, "Paris hooker 50s.”

After being in Chicago for about... eh.. OMG, 10 years, I've become pretty smart and stylish with my Winter gear. This year, I've got my eyes (or feet) on these white Hunters. Perfect for that plush snow, and those sneaky ice patches. Can you just picture it now? Tall white boots on a 5'2 frame with snow up to my hips.. I'm practically invincible!

And another brilliant Anglomania dress. This one is black jersey, classic (i.e. won't date), sexy in a manageable way, and it can do the day-to-night thing. As I've written before, Vivienne Westwood in general and the Anglomania line in particular are particularly flattering if you're not skinny - they require you to have actual breasts, for example. £170 from net-a-porter, among others.

Speaking of which, I see that Westwood's gorgeous former model and muse Sarah Stockbridge (second picture), who subsequently became an actress, has also written 'a novel of the Victorian underworld', which was published last spring.
