This picture represents the highlight of my day today and the first of many silly, emotional wedding-related mistakes that I will make. It's a shot of a wedding dress that I bought from this lovely girl. It's gorgeous, with duchess satin and lace, a creamy peach satin sash and listen to this, buttons down the back. Yes, adorable little satin-covered buttons. Classy with the subtlest hint of quirky and whimsy. I got it. Without trying. Yes. Without trying. And I got back home and tried it on, and.. the only way I'd fit into it next year is if I lost several, several pounds and broke a few bones to reduce the girth of my ribcage. That's right. So, I've got the most gorgeous dress hanging at the back of my door with no one to wear it. Needless to say, I'm the dumbest bride-to-be around. I need to figure out my next plan of action.

O is for...

This week's blog is a small homage to a glorious colour. O just had to be for orange.

We are big fans, and judging by our popular photos on Flickr and items that always sell well on H is for Home, so are a lot of you out there.

Orange has the wonderful ability to look warm & cosy in the winter or lively & fresh in the summer.

Orange objects really catch the eye. It enables them to shout loudly in a collection of other brightly coloured pieces.

Alternatively, it's perfect as a highlight colour within a muted decor or against natural materials.

We've given a few chairs the orange treatment!

We did a G is for Garden a couple of months ago having just planted out some annuals. Our French marigolds are doing well in the sunshine & showers.

H is for...

Just for once we're not going to insist that H is for Home. This week H is for Houses.

We were very pleased to take delivery of these lovely doorstop houses recently.

They're part of the current collection of Somerset-based artist & textile designer, Sarah Nicol.

Sarah has been inspired by travels in Spain, Africa, Asia & America. This collection is influenced by a journey she took through Oregon in the Western United States.

She produces textile artworks, keepsakes and functional pieces such as these adorable doorstop houses.

Each doorstop is handmade and unique, with a quaint, folk art feel.

They come filled with sand & ready to use.

Ties made out of audio cassettes that still play

Made out of 50% recorded audio cassette tape and then 50% colored thread. These designer neckties are created from "sonic fabric"

And yes, you can even listen to them if you create an audio cassette reader with an old Sony Walkman.
