Expressive llamas and alpacas

Even monkeys fall from trees.
I learned this expression first from my niece, Mallory, who had learned it in the course of her Japanese studies. I had been lamenting how a dorama that I'd been watching had been a disappointment, even though it had a talented cast headed up by a favorite actor, Kimura Takuya. At the time, it made me laugh but it also struck me how apt it was.
Now as I am struggling to absorb Korean vocabulary and syntax the reappearance of this expression (in Korean) reminds me to be more humble and less hard on myself. Learning Spanish had been so comparatively easy… I was (and am) like that monkey swinging freely from the high branches. Now I'm grabbing at those branches as I tumble, forgetting verbs, finding myself at a loss for words.
Does the monkey feel embarrassed? Should I?
