I'm excited because I just received an email to say that I've made the shortlist of candidates for this social media experiment. You can read more about it here:http://kissmyarts.posterous.com/ - but basically the idea of it is to give six bloggers free tickets to selected cultural and arts events over the course of a year and have them blog about it. We're talking about events such as opera and ballet - things that I've never been to in my life. But Dog knows I could do with having my horizons broadened a bit. For the next stage I have to write a 200-word blog about an "event" of some kind that I attend in the next few days and post it along with a photo. So stay tuned and wish me luck!

The OCR text created using OCRTool on an iPhone 3G. The original photo of newspaper text, was taken with the iPhone wearing a Griffin Clarfi case and was used by both JotNot and DocScanner. It's touch-and-go whether it would be quicker to type it in by hand when using the 3G. The whole process is done on the iPhone and doesn't involve uploading the image to any servers.
