I feel like this election needs some connection to 7pms on Tuesdays.

So I'll throw out my favorite moment from Tuesday, Novemeber 4, 2008.

Sigourney Weaver decided she wanted to use her star power for Obama in PA, so she brought a gang of friends and neighbors down on Monday afternoon, messed around in South Philly until dark, headed to my mom's, spent the evening there, went with us to a few Delaware County and Chester County polling places on Tuesday morning, and then headed back into Philadelphia for a while before racing back to NY to vote.

I drove a car full of her entourage.  And by entourage I mean 12 and 16 year old dudes that are the children and friends of friends of Sig's.

Our last stop in the city took us deep into the poor southwest, to an old people's home built into the first few floors of a housing project.  Everyone inside was to some degree toothless and limping.  Lots of veteran hats.  Lots of bandages.

Leading us in was the stylish, pinstriped Damon Roberts, a real estate lawyer with dreams of city council, and his beautiful wife and baby.

The old folks loved Sigourney.  Everyone wanted handshakes and hugs.  A couple of people waddled away to get disposable cameras.  The smiles were beautiful.

And, as we walked out, Damon stopped to talk to an old man smoking a cig out front.  They exchanged good luck.  They shook hands.  The old man looked at Damon.

"We gotta win this thing," he said.  He paused.  And he looked into the basket of sleeping blankets in Damon's left hand.  "For him."

Today, it is announced, Sen. Obama's ailing grandmother has passed away.  I do not believe that she died today.  I believe that she passed away while he was in Hawaii and was announced today to drum up the sympathy vote.  Sen. Obama was in Hawaii for two reasons last month: one was to see his grandmother and help her die painlessly and quickly and the other was to doctor some documents, namely his already-phoney birth certificate and related papers, as well as the grandmother's death certificate.  Now, tell me if you don't find today's announcement just very suspicious.
The not-so-good Senator from Illinios (a state known for its corrupt politicians) is falling, still ahead, but falling in recent polls.  People are for the most part kind and will offer sympathy at the death of a loved one and that is what Project Obama is counting on, this day before election day.  The main-stream-media will ignore the suspicious nature of these events and offer their condolences as will all other campaigns, McCain on down.
But, there is someone who will ask the hard questions and that is the great Alex Jones.
This is my opinion, what is yours?

This ad caught my eye next to a New York Times article second-guessing John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as running mate. An interesting juxtaposition to say the least.

The ad goes to the Americans for the Arts homepage.
