These are some iPhone shots from the Irish Museum of Modern Art at Kilmainham. I was really taken by the helium balloon filled corridor.

And yet more good reviews come in for 'Proper Horror Show', Prince Kong's quintessential dosage of dub grime nastiness.

From Boomkat.com...

What do you get if you cross the DJ Producer with Diplo and The Bug? Maybe something close to Prince Kong on 'Proper Horror Show'. After a couple of storm-troopin ragga cuts for Alphabet Set and !Kaboogie Records he's made an even more uncompromising effort for the newly minted Ghetto Quietly label, reeling between bushwacka Ragga-gabber on 'Angsta' feat Jah Balance, to hyper-Soca rinseouts featuring MC Quilombola on 'Whailt' and 'Cazz'. It's fair to say there's not really owt around like this so it's the finest example of this style that you're going to find.

... and Kong also has several other releases on the go at present.

This is what the nice chaps at Wire magazine had to say about one of these in the October '09 edition...

"Cool single mixing classic reggae topping with a screwed up industrial underlayer. The tension between the forces is hypnotic."

Proper Horror Show is available as download and 2x12 inch vinyl from all good stores.

I've always tried explaining to folks visiting Ireland the role a "Pub" plays within Irish society. Perhaps this has changed?  Pubs used to be the platform for social networks, in some locations that remains to be the story, the timeline, and in some locations there is a merge of the two.

Connectivity and the people profile are both key factors here. Those of us with children and different commitments connect virtually whilst having different operating times and locations. We still like to connect with mates when they are out and about. For those of us out on a night or even out for an hour, it's dead handy to suck our email through a fast straw or check our Facebook. We can bookmark our location and let our friends know about the great night we are having ;) AND it has free wifi. Two worlds are merging, that of the physical and virtual. The night out with Facebook and twitter...let’s say!

Mobile operators are also ripping us off with data charges, they don't want you to have wifi phones, they never did, they know they lose the power over your bill when you start connecting to free wifi locations. This is a win for you and the publican.

Free and open wifi should be everywhere, that's why we started FreeFi, you don't pay a penny to upload or download, you don't have a voucher with 26 digit keys to input, you don't even have advertising to watch first. It's a service, your publican pays for it, an extra service for you to avail of !.... tell your local publican it's what you want. If it's business as usual you're losing business Mr. Publican ... http://www.freefi.ie ! We're coming up to Christmas... how many of your mates are coming home and could benefit from a free WIFI connection... FreeFi on the door ? Ask your publican ;) Tourists coming to Ireland will look for Free Wifi ... and yes they might drink coffee only but what's the margin on coffee ? More than a pint ? I'd hazard a guess.

MMR's new sister label Ghetto Quietly launches in Dublin this weekend with a rock solid line up of Prince Kong, Bluefood and A-Force peddling their sonic wares along with various MCs.

Prince Kong's 'Proper Horror Show' on 2 x 12 inch vinyl will be the label's first release and expect much of the material from this release to feature in Kong's set.

Dublin based Ghetto Quietly will concentrate on limited runs of vinyl for local artists... thus far: Prince Kong, Bluefood and A-Force. Expect GQ vinyls to coincide roughly with MMR digital download releases for these Irish artists.

Perhaps not so much a sister label as a bastard cousin.. the one your Mom never wanted you to hang out with as they were from the wrong side of the tracks!
