We could stand in front of him or to his side but not behind him (because the North Koreans just might open their door and snatch you). Or so they told us at.

With the look on the faces of all the soldiers we saw, they take it very seriously too. So we did as told. (Okay, maybe not the Japanese tourists...)

Seeing the fantastic King Khan & The Shrines the other night reminded me of another great garage rock revivalists from the 80's, the Lyres.  Formed in Boston 1979 from the ashes of the punk band DMZ, the Lyres released records via the Ace Of Hearts label alongside fellow hometown band Mission Of Burma.  Spearheaded by the only constant member, Jeff Conolly (below), their sound was inspired from those 60's Nuggets band and contain several tips of the hats with covers of The Kinks, New Colony Six, and The Wailers.  Deep cuts!

Lyres biggest song I Want To Help You Ann has become a staple of modern garage rock comps and for very good reason; it may be one of the best songs of that decade.  But they had many terrific songs including several on their debut On Fyre and to give notice to that I've chosen Dolly to show their range.  Excellent, and I want more!
