HA HA didyouknow that Mel Blanc, the voice of Bugs Bunny, was actually allergic to carrots!
~Did You Know? Viognier (pronounced vee-oh-NYAY) is a wonderfully floral and dry white wine that can have an intriguing bouquet of apricots and pears. At one time it was becoming quite rare because of limited acreage planted and difficulty growing. But Viognier has experienced a wonderful rebirth and now is much more abundantly grown in France (in the Rhone), California, and Australia. In the Rhone it is interplanted and harvested with Syrah to produce highly valued Cote-Rotie wines. It is extremely rare for France to sanction officially the use of a white grape in such high-quality red wines. But the concept is so successful that similar blends are common in Australian reds. As a white wine, Viognier should be consumed young and enjoyed as a food pairing with spicy stir-fry and curry dishes, rich seafood, and lighter meats such as chicken or roast turkey. Our tasting includes a beautiful Viognier from the south of France, the Domaine du Grand Chemin, a vineyard owned by the same family for over 300 years.
This started making rounds last week, finally got a chance to look at it. A nice update to the great series the people at XPlane have been putting out for a couple years now. And yet another great way of showing how lots of data can be crafted and presented in a powerful and compelling way so that people can actually get their heads around it.
