I started using my Wii again.  I got a Dance, Dance, Revolution mat and game.  It is so much fun and a nice way to get a little more exercise in!  I also start pilates at school this week.  I will go on Mondays and Thursdays each week until March.

Weight on Nov. 14: 74.3kg/163.8lbs - yikes!
Weight on Nov. 20: 72.4kg/159.6lbs - down 4lbs!
Weight on Nov. 29: 71.4kg/157.4lbs - down 2lbs from last week, 6lbs altogether!

November 14-20:

I tried acupuncture this week.  Several other people here have tried it and lost weight but it was just too painful for me!  Plus it was very time consuming and I was having less time to work out.  I figure that working out trumps acupuncture so I paid for the three sessions I had and quit.

This week, I got 4 workouts in - including hiking for awhile on the Wall yesterday.  I'll get another workout in today.  It is so cold in the morning, but I am going to try this week to get up in the mornings and workout before going to work.  I've been eating very healthy this week and not drinking much alcohol.  I bought lots of apples for snacks and pomelos because they are delicious.

"Today is your cousin's birthday," I told the children. "He's 21 today."

"Twenty-one?" Asked N. "Is he a grown-up?"

"He's waaaaay past a grown-up," Nee said.

"If he's way past a grown up, what are we?" Asked KayEm as she pointed to herself and me.

"You're Grown-grown-ups," Nee said. "People who are 20 to 50 years old are Grown-grown-ups."

"What about people who are over 50?" I asked.

"They're just old," said Nee.

Well it is 9am and my wife and baby are asleep upstairs, I am sitting on the couch and writing this through half closed eyes. No I didn’t sleep much last night.

My little girl was obviously hungry and daddy got up three time to make a bottle, feed baby, wind her, then clean her up and get her back to sleep. I think I was lulled into a false sense of security by our son who was a real expert at this sleeping through the night routine.

It can only get better from here, I need my beauty sleep.

After lots of parental worry, tubes, (babies should not have tubes - channellers, call them what you will - I just don’t like them) and the tender care of the team on Iffley Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital my two girls will soon be on their way home.

Poppy was born at 9.34am on November 12th 2009 by cesarian and had already had a very lucky escape as she had tied a perfect figure 8 knot in her umbilical cord whilst still in the womb, a midwife pointed out that if she’d have pulled the knot tight we may have had a very different outcome.

Since the birth both girls have had a few issues. Poppy’s didn’t want to eat and had an infection - hence the channellers, my wife Bekky has also had her issues, as you would expect after major abdominal surgery but a very nice doctor has been round and ministered to her every need as well as giving the best possible care to Baby Poppy.

I cannot praise the ladies and gents of Iffly ward highly enough. All them have calmed a worried father, cared for a new mother, - as well as bringing Poppy into the world.

I said I would be brutally honest.  Here goes.

I currently weigh 74 kilos.  That is 163 pounds.  A healthy weight for me would be closer to 60 kilos or 132 pounds.  This means losing 14 kilos or about 30 pounds.  It makes me feel sick that I have let myself get to this point.  Most of my clothes do not fit me, but I do not want to spend money on fat clothes.  I have a stack of pants that are just a bit too small and another stack that are really too small.  Hopefully I will soon fit in the just-a-bit-too-small pants now that I am making my health a priority.

Today I ate:

Breakfast: 1 cup of muesli with soy milk
Lunch: Bruschetta - I was starving and ordered in.  I shouldn't have ordered the bruschetta because I know I always eat the whole thing which is 6 pieces of bread and the olive oil and tomato topping.  But I ordered it - and I ate it.  The whole thing.  Okay, honesty.  Two orders.  Erg.
Dinner: Haven't had it yet.  Going to work out now and figure it out later.  I have a grilled chicken salad and some left-over homemade vegetable soup in the fridge so it will be one of those.
Snacks: 2 Mandarin oranges, 2 fruit strips

Successes:
Only drank water today.  No caffeine.

Time to get my 60 minutes of cardio for the day.

Edit- Wasn't hungry after the workout.  Had another Mandarin orange.

Let's get this started.

Mom - I love you and I want us to be able to go on lots of adventures together.  So, we need some goals.  Not only do I need to lose weight, but I need to be in better shape by eating healthier and getting more exercise.  Here are my goals:

Exercise:
Get 60 minutes of cardio 5 days per week
Strength training/Yoga 3 days per week
Stretching everyday for at least 10 minutes

Diet:
No junk food at least 6 days per week
No coffee at least 6 days per week
Main staples will include: veggies, fruit, chicken, fish, beans, tofu

Weight:
Lose 10 kilos

Log:
Check in at least weekly with log of exercise, diet, and weight
Be brutally honest

Ready?  We can do this.  We can still get in shape together even though we are 6,000 miles apart.  I love you.

Dotty (working title) will be born soon. She is expected at about 8am on November 12, 2009. She will come into the world through the sunroof as we call it or a C-section as it is more often known. And I am as excited as I can be.

We thought we’d never have children you see. We’d been given the impression by the doctors that Jr would never happen, a miracle, a one in a million shot - best not get your hopes up… then we found out we were having one child now we’re having a second.

So mid November I’ll have a daughter.

So, this is my first real post here. Leo Laport and Andy Ihnatko are to blame. They have been plugging Posterous and so I thought I’d try it out.

My name is Tim Jennings. I work in Westminster, London, England.  I was for many years a Disney Cast Member and I run http://afterthemouse.com but that is not what this site is about, it is about me and my family.

My Wife, lets call her Bert (don’t ask), our son Jr (well - obviously) and our impending daughter, Dotty (working title) live in the UK and have a nice life for now. We are both employed, happy and in love. The names have been changed to confuse the innocent.

This will be my space to talk about what matters to me that is not covered on my ‘real site’. So expect no real themes, no insights and absolutely nothing of any value. Just my stream of consciousness.

The End - so far.
