I think some of this dream is a result of reading Stephen King's short story in The New Yorker from two weeks ago. It's about a couple and their pet dog.

At first, I dreamt that my family got a small dog. He looked like a Dachshund and had sleek, glossy chestnut brown fur. I was angry because although my father had always wanted a pet dog, he wasn't going to take the time to walk him. I started to schedule times when I could take the dog for regular walks.

Then, I was in high school again. I was late to my class, but was the only one there. My father was the teacher. I asked Dad why he was our substitute teacher. He didn't really explain. Eventually, more people turned up but not before I had a chance to get some chocolate snacks - Kit Kats, Wagon Wheels and something else I really like in real life.

When I snuck out of class again to help someone, someone stole my chocolates. I was pretty annoyed. My friend Sean was there. I think my classmate Shauna was the one who stole my chocolates, though she would not admit to doing so.

After class, Dad waited in the car for me as I had more classes. He didn't want me to ride home on my bike. I started to feel sick and fluey. Later on, Dad explained that he had put his name down for something to volunteer as part of mental health and disability within the community, that was how he was called to be my substitute teacher.
