I love updating my music collection. It feels so refreshing, kind of like when you're about to start out on a hiking trail or something. You're just thinking about all the things you're going to run into, all the stuff you'll discover, and how you really should have worn jeans to avoid the inevitable scratches.

And speaking of musical scratches, wtf Spoon? The crappy EP you put out (which I heard you only did so as to appease your impatient ass fans) pisses me off. What is it with you guys? Going all Death Cab on us by slamming out your horrible new music.

Placebo's new jams are bugging me a little, too. The music is straight up Placebo, but Molko's voice is really effed up. He sounds kind of terrible in more than one spot. Like, they didn't spend enough money in the editing room to clean him up a little. Sour notes are killer, especially on a damn cd.

And I'm not going to lie. I've got some real love for Madcon, and I'm hoping it works out for them (Really, guys, you are the first thing I choose, but the last thing I need). But their new digital EP sounds so much like "Beggin'." Every song. Though, don't get me wrong. It's a song I like. So having it four times over is sort of acceptable. The Michael Cera of bands?

But on a good note, holy crow I'm loving Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. It's super fresh and clean sounding. Feel good rock. And unlike Molko, I'm adoring Mars' vocals. He's super breezy sounding.

And my current dorky jam of the moment? LMFAO's Yes. It's all kinds of stupid and awesome.

And, because I can, a brat pack mashup to Phoenix's "Lisztomania":

We were looking for somebody whose enthusiasm could rub off on us, someone who would experience all of these things that we’d already experienced for the first time and for their excitement to raise us up out of our jadedness and make us into kids again.”
