Stop-Motion animation sure celebrates a renaissance lately. Probably due to the fact, that it's easier to do today than it was only 10 years ago. All you need is an idea, a digital camera or camera phone, a computer and a lot of time. If you do it right, it looks like this, this, or even this. Ad a lot of money to the equation and the result looks like this. Now image you were back in 1965 and didn't have all those precious things. Just an idea and a 8mm-camera! The outcome can still be  "fully awesome", as Rhino would say. Watch:
