A full Boot Camp to shake off a somewhat sucky Monday. Things fell apart. I couldn't put them back together and it frustrated me all day. I started the day scraggly and happy, dancing along with the crews of America's Best Dance Crew and ended it worked out extra hard as I tried to shake off the failure. Tomorrow's another day, kids, and best believe, I plan to be better.

Scarface says, "Then that's it. Had to make some new plans."

I didn't expect it but we ended up with a full 50 minutes of Boot Camp. I still struggle with parts of the middle section (weights, squats, kicks all at once? That ish is bananas) but I kept it going. After exploring parts of Los Angeles I had really been through on foot and getting in the thick of Walter Mosley's The Right Mistake in the process, we're calling this a great Sunday.

Plus, I'm about to have steak for dinner. Heads may not be ready but stomachs are.

Mos Def says, "We the lions, you the cheetahs."

A Tough Boot Camp (I didn't finish Level 2) on a just fine Tuesday. It's odd, though, I don't think I had enough veggies today. I might have to steam up some broccoli. I'm still weirded out that this is how my body is responding these days. Vegetables? Seriously?

Common says, "Wouldn't be ashamed to give up a part of my check."

  10. Province by TV On The Radio
Bonus: In The Clouds by Under the Influence of the Giants

This is a bit of an uneven mix for a Boot Camp Level 2 day what with it's mixing of mellow and more uptempo but it did it's job well enough I guess. I need a more driving song than Dreams for the punch sequence but we soldiered through. This workout was incredibly important today as I had to offset a wonderful dinner at Loteria! Carnitas, tortilla chips, cheeses and assorted cakes were on the table and I partook with out much regard for the diet. I did add some veggies (summer squash and a corn relish) to my meal and only ate about half the pork portion but I, to be crass, fucked up some salty triangle shaped chips. And this on my first day under 230 in a long time.

Under the Influence of Giants says not to worry though, "Blame it on the clouds."

  2. Love by Mary J. Blige
  3. What's So Different by Ginuwine

  6. One In A Million (remix f/ Ginuwine) by Aaliyah
  7. No Substitute Love (Witty Boy Remix) by Estelle
Bonus: Change (feat. Lupe Fiasco) by Joy Denalane

Taking it easy today with a Boot Camp Level 1 workout but I'm still sweating like a hog. This playlist was orignally suppposed to start with Aaliyah's We Need A Resolution but I was desperate for that Ginuwine so we reorganized and here's what we got. Now it's dinner, a shower, and out into the night. Saturday Night Fever, baby!
