Andy has been podcasting for some time and so we had a great chat about the Mac and Podcasting. Andy is responsible for SDR News which is SlashDot Review. SDR News is a Daily Monday to Friday Technology Podcast with Tech News Highlights from Slashdot, Digg and Reddit. It is a 12 to 14 minute podcast.

Here are a couple of examples of the news from SDRNews

DVR is TV's New BFF | Electronic Frontier Foundation
IT snake oil: Six tech cure-alls that went bunk
TV Finds That a Mortal Foe, the DVR, Is Really a Best Friend - NYTimes.com

He also has CMS Weekly in which he talks about Joomla, Drupal, Alfresco and Wordpress for example.

He actually started podcasting with a Dell computer and a gamer mic, he has a long relationship with the Mac though and as we know the Mac is the best way to go for making podcasts. He edits audio with a few different audio applications including ProTools, he like the encoder to mp3 in that one, find out more in the podcast. The Heil PR40 takes a bow again, it is a very popular mic for the podcasters. He tells me that he still has the packaging for nearly all of the Apple Products he has ever bought.

Andy is getting more interested in making videos now, visiting tech trade show, to interview people, strangely he is using the iSight camera to record them and then send them straight out with UStream video.

He tells me about he favourite applications on the Mac, things like CamTwist, AmadeusPro, Pro Tools, Audacity even?? Andy, like me struggles a bit with Automator, we both think it is a great concept though. Just need a problem to solve with Automator.

Wow! BlogWorld 2009 was another incredible event. I have been to both the BlogWorld Expo and New Media conference before and I like the new combo.

The closing keynote ended up being setup like the Tonight Show, with Guy Kawasaki acting as the host. Kevin Pollak was hysterical and I definitely need to check out his regular vid cast. Chad Vader came onto the stage and within a few minutes took off his mask and invited the voice behind Chad Vader on stage. Finally, the Bloggess worked her magic and showed off her humor.

We are working on compressing and encoding all the videos from the keynotes. We should have them up soon.

Big props to Rick Calvert for all his help and for putting together another great BlogWorld experience. Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

Here are a few pictures from BlogWorld Expo. I always intend to take more photos but somehow always get caught up with chatting and forget. Had a great time this year and in particular enjoyed hanging out with my friends and colleagues Rich Brooks, Coach Deb Micek, Mari Smith, Christina Hills, Leesa Barnes, Mike Stelzner, Chris Garrett and so many others.

I always get some good nuggets of info which I'll share on my blogs as I process and digest. The best part though, are the conversations and dinners with friends. Ideas and partnerships and projects always flow from the "in real life" meetings with online friends.

No photos today...it was a late night for everyone in Las Vegas.

We ended up going to the BlogWorld party last night at Jet in the Mirage after a full day of streaming and recording. It was a great day of sessions yesterday, we had Jermaine Dupri, Brian Solis, Leo Laporte and many more take the stage.

One of the coolest sessions was The State of the Blogosphere. I would reference that video and presentation anytime someone tries to say blogging is dead.

Techcrunch has the presentation online - I will send the link soon.

A week ago, we didn't even think we would be here. Coordinating the streaming of an event like BlogWorld Expo takes a lot of time and effort.

A couple weeks ago, Rick Calvert (Founder and CEO of BlogWorld) mentioned this opportunity and you don't say no to Rick.

So, we're here in Vegas and excited to bring speakers such as Robert Scoble, Guy Kawasaki, Jermaine Dupri, Brian Solis and Leo Laporte to the rest of the world.

Its a pretty cool show - here's a photo of the full access area. We'll be sending some behind-the-scenes video as well.

To watch the keynotes, BlogWorld 2009 is being streamed live on mycontent.com and we are working non-stop to make it a great experience.

Just a few days ago I posted about how excited I was to go to Blogworld in Las Vegas next month and yesterday it got 100X more exciting for me. I saw @blogworld tweet about getting free tickets to a Cirque Du Soleil show while at blogworld in exchange for a review on your blog. I decided to apply to review Beatles LOVE for VitaminOC.com because I have been dying to see that show for a very long time... and guess what? I got it!! yay! I hope that I get to see the show with other bloggers and get to meet some new and interesting people at the show.

Also, yesterday was Twestival OC! I had a great time with all of the OC tweeps! The food and venue @oranghill provided were awesome! and the musicians and comedians were great! It was a really great event! I even got interviewed by @tednguyen hehe! I believe that 3k was raised for the Orange Wood Foundation in Orange County. It was amazing to see the community come together for a great cause.  Some of the bidding for the auction got intense! I met some great people and have a new love for Stacey Clark's music. If this is OC's first Twestival, I wonder what will come next year! I am sure that we will have a full detailed post of Twestival OC on VitaminOC very soon!
