Chain Of Thoughts

Thank goodness for blogs you get to record every single thought thats going through without loosing the vibes.

Been looking at University in Berklee, it looks great to be there but running in the background of my head is why do you need to go there when you can learn most of the stuff on your own? What exactly do you want to learn over there? etc. would it be faster to learn from a school that teaches you?

Summer 2009 Comprehensive Fee: $475
Degree Program: $12,510 Charged per semester of attendance to all students for cost of
Diploma Program: $10,780 non-curricular facilities, programs and services.
12-Week Full-Credit Program: $10,780
Tuition Prepayment for 12-Week Program*: $100

Moving On... To Videos of Interest.

To propel myself forward , i figured I should work on a portfolio of some sort. It is really kinda like an experimental phase as there is so many genres of music to choose from . It really all boils down to what kinda music I wanna go into and it is really interesting. I recently found out who I wanna become and its really touching when i saw Matt Cab in his making of his original song titled "So Good". It really shows how passionate he is over his track and he even went to the extend of lighting a match to get the sound. Either ways at least what I really know now is that I am experimenting with my present abilities, how far can i move forward.

</object>

I finally found inspiration in a video. It may not be the music I will be doing but I sure wanna learn how to do it. I came to realize with my current abilities, I am already half way there into attaining my goal. All i need is a voice coach, a keyboard skill and tonnes of passion and creative mind, a lyrical genius brain. Good news is i do not technically need to know how to play everything :) Cause i know people who can sing... people who can play the keyboards etc. Followed by this video, i clicked on the link at the bottom of this video which lead me to another stunner dude called Ryan Leslie. I don't know much about him but he is seriously seriously into production. When i watched these people so committed to their music. It definitely has touched moved and inspired me. To me it was just totally insane.

I am totally convinced at this point that they have the ability to create this thing i call Audio Orgasm.   Ha perhaps that should be the name of my next album. hahah i am not too sure.. sounds.. too hiong..

Song List

Some of the songs that is playing in my head currently which i never had the time to take a pen and paper to write it all down based on the current set up I have.. I mean with a borrowed bass guitar thanks to Alvin, My epiphone Les Paul Ultra II, My really whack Panasonic Keyboard, My Rode NT1A, My Presonus Firebox, LOGIC PRO, MELODYNE, my main artist Yan Ru and Ethel, My Co Producer Ling, My Morale Boosters Andy and Bjorn. These are the song list that I could possibly think of producing. Of course its all in my head right now..time to pen it all down..

1. Hysteric - Yeah Yeah Yeahs ( Acoustic Cover ) - Requires Minor Touch Up
2. Wonder Wall - Oasis ( Acousitc / Electric ) - Requires Minor Touch Up
3. Run This Town - Jay Z Rihana ( RnB / Rap ) - Requires Rap Lyrics + Dope Vocals +Hard Bass + Blues Guitar Riffs.
4. First Of The Gang - Morrissey ( Rock ) - Redoing all the parts with Bass
5. I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend how to dance with you - Black Kids - Blank
6. Lost in the supermarket - The Clash - Re sound engineer
7. You Belong With Me - Taylor Swift - Redo Guitar Track
8. Paparazzi - Lady Gaga - Rock Remix

As you can see from the playlist this far, its pretty experimental phase as it covers all sortsa genres and honestly with my current set up, I don't know what I am able to cover but I intend to just do it anyways.

Concerns

At this point I am just talking to myself. Yeah so whats next once I have these tracks? they are all not classified in order and its pretty confusing for listeners If i wanna make this into an album. Its all about whats next? I figured I would be able to find some sounds that I could replicate and do some remixes and I am sure that would be very very interesting. Consumer behavoir.. what would a consumer wants to listen right now... something fresh.. something interesting.. if it was a cover.. i would want it to sound different... Hmmm...

What Do I Need to Become?

I Guess at this point I pretty Much need play the role of Ryan Leslie, Timbaland, David Guetta, Tiesto, Matt Cab. Yup Starring Melvin.. in his One man Band. I just have to pretty much explore every aspects. All great things begins with a single thought.

I'm just happy I'm alive today. Anything beats dying man. One more day to be Lu Bu, a talented genius, a photographer, a friend, a bro, a producer, a marketing manager, an inspiration to my peers, a woman gazer, a charming stud, a powerful man , a collaborator, a musician, a fashionist, a peace maker, and the list goes on.

What happens when you have a schedule time for your brothers? You actually can spend super quality time hanging out, having the best meal , having the best time doing the most normal things. Its only then i came to realise that most of the time, its the company that you are in that sets the mood to do anything. I am happy to have the morale support from Bjorn today. I was relatively productive in terms of coming out with basic tracks. I got it done like within 15 minutes of course the final details have to be added delicately when i am spending alone time studying the tracks, I also would need to learn how to quantize... its awesome to have someone who supports and takes interest on whatever you are doing .

We proceeded to DJ hero and we totally own the game. Big time. we played it with 500 times the excitement of getting the highest score. I realize we have the same vibes, Whenever we play a game we have to own the game. otherwise it wont be a fun enough game to play. Maybe its just that competitive child in us that yearns power.

We were so productive today and we even had time for supper., it really helps to own a vehicle i must say. Something I should start asking myself.. how do I make myself be able to afford the car...

Till then.. its gonna be a rough time over the next few months.

So much inauthentic fear right now. Things that do not exist.

I am pretty much talking to myself.

I have been giving huge thoughts about learning music production as of late as it has always been my passion. Well.. actually listening to music mainly.. During this period of deep thoughts and stuff, I realized that I communicate best via music. Even though I may not know everything, every song, every underground label, mainstream tracks and shit. Most of the songs I listen today are a spin off of someone else's favorite tracks. And being able to appreciate such music provides a bridge for me to them. Of course there are other bridges to a person other than music, i am just realizing that the music anyone listens too pretty says much about a person's personality. And through that you get to have some kind of background relatedness.

Whether it is the cheesy song playing on the radio, the super ah beng music, the emo tunes, the alternative rock, the electro, the hip hop, the underground ska, mainstream, noise, We are all always either directly or indirectly affected by it.. it will always cause a reaction in our hearts.. some songs cause a positive one, some songs cause a negative one.. some songs makes you want to get up and go for it.. some songs sympathize with current situation.. some songs empowers you to take that plunge to do things you never dared dream to do before. It's amazing how it spurs the reaction of the crowd and in a way, people who tend to listen to the same kinda music would have something to talk about.

Some songs aren't that awesome on its own, but with the help of a lil remix, a lil cover, the song changes a mood, spurs another reaction.. another feeling... imagine many of the songs i listened to growing up in the style of bossa nova... sure it raises a few eyebrows.. a few critics etc, but its fresh. And thats what keeps audiophiles like myself, fans, musicians, DJ's, rockstars, pop stars, country singers, weird new strange music, experimentalist alive.. and to keep believe in making music.

Its about time I start making music to contribute.

Peace.

I have been quite productive recently. Of course that didn't came easy for me, I have to go through a series of high and lows to understand certain concepts of life. It has just occured to me that the best way I could possibly learn anything is to be in the experience myself. I've been living in a story where I am an extremist. I am an either ALL or NOTHING person. And today I want to give that up. Because the beauty of life lies in balance. In simple terms, the main breakthrough for me is to attain Balance.

Balance comes in many form to me. Perhaps one of the most recent breakthroughs I got was my balance with Work and my Personal Life. I used to be relatively pissed off with having to plan for my life, having to stick by a schedule and stuff. But just recently, after having a series of breakdowns, I picked up a book by Richard Templar. (Now this is really strange cause it is extremely unlikely for me to read. I had a breakthrough nevertheless having to walk out the bookstore with a book in my hands) It has taught me many many many things that made so much sense after reading it, and one of which was to HAVE A SCHEDULE.

I took that on for merely 4 days now and this is what i have came out with. GOOGLE CALENDER has definitely helped me in so many instances, I know knew what i was doing at work and have it done, I even plan time for me to travel back, go for a run, produce some beats, hang out with friends and shit like that. More importantly, for the past 25 years of my life living in this illusion that I am very BUSY, I have no time and shit.. was entirely... false. Here is a snap shot of how it looks like and I really urge all to take this on.

I learnt to realise that no schedule is ridiculously packed with a million things. Look.. there is only 24 hours.. you can only do this much.. just take it on and see what i mean.

So having said all that, I've started my training ( first time ever since i got back from Japan ) for 3 consecutive days. I must say it wasn't easy but Google Calendar has helped me. I now no longer have an excuse saying I HAVE NO TIME TO RUN. Its like saying you dont have time to work but have time to facebook. Ya get my drift.. I have rid of all my worries of having no abs and all. Cause I've learnt to understand that the very thing you fear most will continuously persist in your life. For me, its loosing my looks, my body and become a fat looser. If i keep fearing it, I will one day become that person.. maybe not physically.. but mentally, I have became that person.

I've set myself free after having my first round of Alcohol in years. I took control. I am back with a certain degree of experience. It's one hell of a ride but thats what made me feel truly alive. Being on self maintaining mode physically is awesome.. today, i eat what i want and i do what i want and I still have that.. welll lil tummy but yeah it be gone soon anyways.  :)woooho!

Its 10.26pm now. I have 4 minutes scheduled for random facebook stuff before i start working on my beats! May this last forever or get better along the way.

I was sitting in the Cash Studios and seriously, I thought to myself, how the hell did I end up here.. the conclusion was simply an unknown, but we're just living the moment nonetheless.. Thank you all for the great time. You all have unleashed the kid in me. I wonder to myself sometimes, 5 years down the road, will you all be still like that :) As hyperactive, 10 times excited, fully self expressed and stuff. Its along the way we learnt more about ourselves and you all have definitely been a reflection for myself.
