#urbanscapes best damn saturday ive had in ages.
Urbanscapes was awesome. Got there at about 2pm and stayed all the way till 11pm. Met a bunch of old friends and a bunch more new ones. The music was off the hook and the beer was all you needed to combat the heat. At one point it looked like it was going to rain ( but being the perfect day that it was – the clouds didn’t spill even a drop) which was awesome.
There was so much stuff to look at, buy, play with, that I would do any of it justice trying to explain. So I’m just going to recant the 5 best moments I experienced, in no particular order.
#1 box of ideas
My first purchase of the day I think (other than the beer that is) simply the plan was to get a bunch of people’s ideas together – in the form of cards and box em up, sell em out and see what happens. Conversation and more ideas ensue. These ideas were so cool that I believe they manage to get all their stuff snapped up in the first 2 hours ( good thing I came early). If you missed your chance to check out the cool – join the facebook group and be part of the party. I hvnt opened my box yet – sort of keeping special for the time being.
Ching Yen, Sharif and the Box of ideas guys.
#2 chicyamada beauties
Very interesting promo idea – snap pictures with all 6 of the ladies walking around , submit them and stand a chance to win one of the tops. If I win one its goes to Ching Yen for being awesome and asking me to come for Urbanscapes. 6 ladies in total!
The First of the chicyamada ladies aka @elleashley
@hellokimmy and @stellaboo
Priscilla Wong – whom I hvnt met in ages.
I kinda look like I’m slightly stroking out in this one but it’s the only one I took with this person
#3 The energy of the shops!
They were so a-Lot of shops @urbanscapes, all the same each had something special to share and all of them were manned by people that were friendly and really knew their stuff. Here are just some of many
Really interesting film cameras. Find out more at http://www.theclickshop.net/
For all your boarding and surf needs. Nazry (furthest right) if I ever decide to surf ( they have a training pool!) http://www.myspace.com/raskalkl
Nareez Z. and Shikin H. of thefroufrou.blogspot.com . Bought a Pixellate from then and I think its pretty awesome
Its Space Invader!
Ching Yen Bought a Top/dress from these lovely ladies (shop name escapes me)
Something for everyone to look forward to. Orange coincidentally was the color if the day.
#4 The Beer
Wasn’t too expensive, super duper refreshing and lots of it to go around. Kudos to the guys at Tiger for allowing us to swap warm beer for ice cold goodness!
Our very on Mr Haze Runner aka @suren_haris and Mr Social Entrepreneur aka @ devan_singaram
@ devan_singaram found a new hat.
#5 the people – some random, all friendly
Line of the day – I have a rule, if I’ve just met someone I have to take a picture with them. Which is awesome Urbanscapes everyday !
#6 the art pieces and decoration
Well I lied – there were more than 5 moments. Since there are plenty more im just going to make a statement and say this is the 6th out of 5 awesome things at Urbanscapes 2009.
All in all – probably the best damn Saturday this year.
