On Deep Fried
Throughout the song England, I brought out this character Deep Fried.
He is a new character in this imaginary band that I have formed. (sort of makes me sound geeky and desperate, but it gets the song out-that's got to count for something?) Deep Fried is a slide guitar player. One bog problem that I have found in my music is lack of guitar solos. It was fashionable a couple of years ago to let go of the predictable guitar solos that would always fit right in the middle of pop songs, and I agreed and dropped them off at the nearest bus depot. Now I miss them and I actually have to do a lot of mind work to get them back and relevant and fun (like the Cars use to be). Deep Fried was one attempt to answer that problem. Don't know if I will bring this idea out more or leave it alone. Everytime I want to take a break from the blues it always enchants me again.
