Here are posterous posts filed under autopost...

So i have this problem with audiogravity and vlomo posts that i want to post in the past. I have two options, just post it and it will have todays date on and will send to all the autopost places as normal (i normally then edit manual and replace the posterous converted video with the vimeo embed) and i can then go in and also adjust the date manually to put it back onto the right day.

But i'm awkward and hate the idea of lots of posts out of sync causing confusion so i post them as private which allows me to go in and edit the date manually and just stealthy drop the posts back in as if they were not missing. but in doing this they do not obviously autopost - i sorta hoped that my unticking the private box however that it would then do the autopost - i guess it is messy and probably should ask me if i want to do that. Is there a way to set the date manually from the subject line? - i know i can do tags but i was wondering if possible to force dates as well. I also seem to be having a problem with twitter with tags in that they are no longer posting some of the hashtags as tags in the tweet.

PicPosterous v1.1 for the iPhone has added some very useful improvements.
  1. Images can be *Deleted* from any Album managed by PicPosterous.
  2. Images can be added to *Any* of the Albums managed by PicPosterous, not just the most recent.
  3. You can Autopost an Album when it is *complete*, not just when it is created.
  4. You can *choose* which sites to Autopost to rather than Autopost to everything.
  5. You can share a link to a Gallery by email. The email includes a link to the Gallery and the first image.
Whilst 1. and 2. are obvious e.g. add a photo, Select Album, job done or tap Album, move to photo, tap Trash icon; I couldn't work out how to use the Autoposting (and  thus the email option), at first. These are the steps:

1. Tap the blue arrow head to the right of the Album:

2. Tap the Autopost line:

3. Tap in the marked rectangular area to instantly Autopost. If you tap the blue arrow head, your go to the site (in this example -- Flickr)

4. The Confirmation of the Autopost:

5. What you see after tapping the blue arrow head:

Интернет (во всяком случае, .com) идет по пути кроссконнекта. Постишь в Твиттер — обновляешь Фейсбук. Пишешь в Фейсбук — постишь в ЖЖ. Пишешь в Постеруз — обновляешь все и сразу. Поэтому будущее за универсальным инструментом, швейцарским ножом social media.

Так что беру свои слова назад. Posterous — не такое уж говно.

via tweetie

Tried to use Twitter2Press to post pics to Wordpress via tweetie.. That didn't work out to well, as it stretches the image to fit the whole post area, and I have no idea how to resize the image. I do know how to resize an image, just couldn't find a way of resizing that image once it was autoposted to WP.

I also found that when i tweeted the above image to WP earlier, the pic was posted to WP - but there was no tweet in the twitter timeline. Don't get that??

Anyways, so I've just linked Tweetie to Posterous and it works a treat and I can then autopost to WP from here.

Posterous' capability to autopost to other blogging platforms can be immensely useful for people like me who have migrated blogging platforms more than once. But why do you autopost to other blogging platforms after you've migrated? Is it to keep the audience you've built in your previous platform, or do you want to claim the subdomain of the other blogging platforms so your username won't be snatched away or are there other reasons? Why pollute the web with so many of the same posts on different platforms? I'm considering deleting my blogs from Tumblr and Blogspot, but it's like migrating souls. I can't seem to manage to dump the memories of blogging on my previous platforms.

We all know that Posterous is the easiest way to share photos and videos with your friends on Twitter. Now, we've just added a new feature that turns tags on Posterous into #hashtags when you autopost to Twitter or any other microblog.

For instance:

Subject: It really does smell like teen spirit ((tag: grunge, nirvana))

becomes:

To enable this feature, just edit the "Advanced Settings" of your Twitter autopost site by visiting the autopost page and add "{{hash_tags}}" to your custom footer:

Anything I say here can be used against me on my Twitter, my Facebook and my Tumblr, as well as right here on my Posterous. And all from one simple email. Is this cool or what?
