Scary Traffic
I was sitting in my house this morning, drinking some genmai cha tea, when I heard a car honk out front. Normally, that's not a big deal. We know a lot of high school students from Young Life, and they honk when they drive by. But today, I looked out and saw my dog, Legend crossing the street. That would be ok if we didn't live on a busy road where cars are going by at 45 mph. My roommate had left the back gate unlatched and my buddy Legend was gone.
I was able to track him down rather quickly, but it's really scary when he gets out. He's got some dog friends across the street, and he always makes a b-line for them when the gate is open. If he has some protection like this it would be ok, but I'm afraid one day, I'm going to go out and he'll be badly injured. We put up a really nice fence back in the fall to keep him in. It works great, minus a few wood spindles that are coming off on the deck. It's just because we have so many people come in and out of the house that there is a higher risk of him getting out. Scary. Poor boy doesn't know how much danger he's in when he gets out.
