THE GOLD STANDARD

Reeder is without doubt the best RSS reader for use with Google Reader. In fact, Reeder is simply the Gold Standard in apps of this genre. I've tried many premium readers, and as another reviewer commented, other apps either tend to be top-heavy on features or top-heavy on aesthetics. Until now, no app developer has managed to combine the two effectively. Reeder is fast, sleek, beautifully designed, unclutteted and does what you need well. Twitter integration coming in the next update (I'm a beta tester) works seamlessly as do the other share options. Even sharing an article by email creates a simple but elegant email with clickable headings. In short, it's just a beautful, simple app to use, and takes pride of place on my iPhone homescreen springboard.

I would argue that Tweetie 2 is the gold-standard of Twitter apps. By this virtue, Reeder is well on the way to being THE best reader app; the gold-standard of apps in it's class. I would like to see more features available, such as the ability to add feeds from within the app, and to be able to manage existing subscriptions, again within the app. But for now, I'm one happy Reeder!

We've allready tested the app for programatic bugs and I'm proud to say that it is quite well polished. After carefull consideration we decided to move up the release date for Movie Buff and we're currently doing our final checks on the questions database (making sure there are no spelling mistakes or incorrect answers). It's all looking good and our testers are happy with the app.

I'm the reigning champion right now with a highscore of 116 (although Ali, who wrote our questions got to 220 once, but that was before we had our internet highscore system up so he has no way to proove it :)    )

Love or Dump let’s you choose a cute character to play with, set your name and start the game. Or if you need a quick boy-choice on the go, just straight to setting up two boys and start the Love or Dump quiz to make your choice clear. It even keeps track of recent comparisons to see how all those boys measure up.

shazam-red[UK] Mobile music discovery service Shazam has joined the (PRODUCT) RED campaign, with a specially branded iPhone app – the first mobile app provider to have done so. The campaign raises funds and awareness in fighting AIDS in Africa.

Joining (PRODUCT) RED is an especially good fit for London-based Shazam’s music-oriented iPhone app, the (RED) brand will be familiar to many iPhone users since Apple is one of the high profile companies to already sell products that support the program – currently the iPod nano  – along with other big names including American Express, Bugaboo, Converse, Dell, Emporio Armani, Gap, Hallmark and Starbucks.

A new special edition of the company’s recently revamped iPhone app branded (SHAZAM)RED is now available from Apple’s App Store and costs £2.99/€3.99/$4.99, with 20% of proceeds going to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Although (RED) funds are specifically directed to HIV and AIDS programs in Africa.

iPhone (and iPod touch) users who purchase the (SHAZAM)RED app, or existing users who upgrade, are promised the same music discovery features of the recently launched Shazam Encore app, along with updated content specifically related to the (RED) campaign.
