It must be human to assume that everything we have nowadays has been around for ever, but that is not even remotely the case. Mobile phones, Internet and computers might be very young, but our elders had their ways to entertain themselves. They might not have animations in flash, not even TV, but they used their imagination to overcome difficulties. After all, someone had to be the first to have the idea of "animating" a drawing...

Check J. Stuart Blackton's film Humorous Phases of Funny Faces. It is widely considered the earliest animation film ever. The year was 1906. A long time has passed since then...
